| Introducing a Public Speaker in a Business Setting
1. Explain to the group what the next presentation or subject
is about.
2. Share with them why this information will be of great value
to them in achieving their goals.
3. Introduce the next speaker based on the profile provided.
If a profile is not provided, research the speaker creating your
own profile. Limit the information to those areas of the person’s
life that are pertinent to the subject. Add to the profile any
personal experiences or feelings that you have relative to the
speaker, that are of value to the audience. Initially, refer to
the person generically as the next speaker, he, she, etc. Do not
use the speaker's name yet. Once you have shared the individual’s
title, you may begin referring to them with that as well. For
example, our President, Vice President, State Director, etc.
4. Always wait for the speaker to arrive at the front of the
room. Maintain eye contact and greet one another in a mutually
acceptable way (ie: handshake, embrace, etc.). If the speaker
keeps you up front to say a few words about you, maintain eye
contact with the audience. Erase the board before leaving.
